Teen Counseling & Family Therapy

Guiding your teen through their adolescence is probably the most challenging developmental stage you will face as a parent. A teen in full bloom is a colorful mixture of attitude, opposition, and rebellion that, when blended with cars, peer pressure, social media, gaming, vaping, alcohol, or marijuana can become volatile—and scary.

The choices they make now can have a lasting impact on their health, safety, and overall well-being. What’s needed is a game plan, one rooted in a larger understanding of what adolescents are going through so that you and your teen can connect.

In my work with teens, I am inspired by the ripe period for developmental growth that adolescents go through.  With the perspective that the teenage brain is still fresh in formation, I am particularly interested in the development of intrinsic motivation and resilience.  The crux of my work is in supporting teens in the identification of their passions and developing resilience around it, so that their short and long-term goals can thrive.
